Mario Camarena picked up a guitar for the first time at age 13 and began taking lessons a year later with fellow instructor Seth Hollander. He had so much fun with the instrument initially that he often devoted up to 12 hours a day practicing and studying theory.

His specialties are rock, metal, neo-classical, progressive, music thoery, ear training, and speed metal picking.

Mario has attained much success with his band CHON. Currently signed to Sumerian records, CHON has released their album "GROW" and is touring to support it.

Mario is endorsed by Ibanez guitars and can be seen displaying their products on tour with big names such as Animals as Leaders, Jeff Loomis, After the Burial, Circa Survive, and many more.
